About the role 

Mater Mothers’ Hospital currently have an opportunity available for an experienced and passionate Clinical Midwife to join our Public Antenatal and Gynaecology Inpatient ward – MM9. The inpatient ward covers a significant range of patients, both public and private, and from early pregnancy to postnatal care. We excel in management of high-risk pregnancies being a large tertiary referral hospital. This includes Bereavement support, Inductions, and care in early labour. MM9 is also the Mater’s public Gynaecology Ward for non-oncology patients.

This is part-time (16-24 hours per week), maximum-term position for 6-12 months.

Salary range: $54.44 - $ 58.30 (RM2) per hour + 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you'll be doing 

The successful applicant will provide clinical midwifery leadership and management on a day-to-day basis and deliver evidence-based care to women ranging from the care of normal, low risk women through to complex obstetric, medical and gynaecology care requiring an extensive multidisciplinary approach.

About you 

To be successful in your application for this position it is essential that you have:  

  • Current Midwifery registration and nursing registration with AHPRA 
  • Considerable post-graduate midwifery experience in a maternity setting and preferably also in gynaecology nursing.
  • Advanced clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of nursing/midwifery practice 
  • Effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care within the multidisciplinary team 
  • Commitment to the continuous improvement of health care and midwifery practice, and to continuing professional development of self and others
  • Ability to work in a team environment including the larger multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to the Mater values
