About the role
Mater Hospital Brisbane’s Oncology Ward (10B) has an exciting opportunity for three passionate and motivated Registered Nurses to join the team on a permanent part time basis (32 hours a week).
Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a Registered Nurse, you will have a strong patient-service focus, demonstrated commitment to continued service improvement, willingness to facilitate and encourage cohesive, positive professional relationships and be required to demonstrate problem-solving skills to improve patient care outcomes relevant to the ward.
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care by assessing patient conditions, developing tailored care plans, and closely monitoring progress throughout treatment
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure personalized and effective patient care
- Provide empathetic emotional support and education to patients and their families, helping them navigate treatment options and manage side effects
- Maintain meticulous and accurate documentation of patient medical histories, medications, and care plans
- Uphold the highest standards of safety and infection control, ensuring a clean and compliant clinical environment
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay at the forefront of oncology nursing best practices
About you
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- Registered Nurse with current, unrestricted AHPRA registration
- Experienced in oncology nursing with advanced clinical skills and a strong commitment to quality patient care
- An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, with proven clinical problem-solving abilities
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment
- Experienced in chemotherapy administration and CVAD management is highly desirable, but we welcome candidates eager to learn and develop these skills
- A natural leader with strong time management skills who embodies and promotes the values and philosophy of Mater
You will have strong leadership ability and experience, excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to promote the philosophy and values of Mater to all staff.
