Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our Emergency Department on a permanent full-time or part-time basis (minimum 0.5 FTE).

Based at our Springfield campus, this role will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. You will:
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute and urgent conditions
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal clinical outcomes
- Advocate for patients, ensuring their physical, emotional and spiritual needs are met
- Collaborate closely with medical, nursing and allied health teams to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold confidentiality at all times
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, patient safety and risk management activities
- Support the education and mentoring of students, graduates and less experienced staff
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain contemporary clinical knowledge
About you
You are a caring and adaptable Registered Nurse who thrives in a collaborative, high-performing team environment. You will demonstrate:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated clinical experience in an acute care setting, ideally within an Emergency Department
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-focused approach
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care and continuous improvement
- Passion for professional development, learning and mentoring others
- Flexibility to work across a 24/7 rotating roster
