About the role

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Perioperative Department within the Day Surgery Unit. We offer flexible employment options to suit your lifestyle, with opportunities available ranging from Permanent Part-Time 24 hours per week to Full-Time 38 hours per week positions. Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton features a modern perioperative environment, comprising five main theatres, two dedicated Day Surgery theatres and one Cath Lab, allowing our team to deliver high-quality patient care across a broad range of surgical services. Our theatre complex provides a diverse and rewarding caseload across a range of specialties, including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, Endoscopy, and Gynaecology. The Day Surgery Unit operates Monday to Friday, from 6:30am to 8:00pm, with occasional Saturday theatre lists.

Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

Our Perioperative Registered Nurses use extensive experience to provide essential support to our patients and Clinical Nurses in activities designed to aid the sustainability of the department and assist with the progression of service improvement.

Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:

  • Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care while acting as patient advocate
  • Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients during perioperative journey
  • Provide effective management of post anaesthesia and postoperative complications
  • Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
  • Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

About you

  • Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Considerable demonstrated experience the area in which you are applying for
  • High level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management
  • Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems
  • The ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy, multidisciplinary team environment
