About the role
Mater Private Hospital Brisbane is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Acute Medical Ward on a full-time, maximum-term contract until February 2027.

Salary range: $41.73 - $53.53 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will deliver safe, patient-centred and evidence-based nursing care within our Acute Medical Ward, with responsibilities that include:
- Provide high-quality clinical care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing interventions
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate and optimise patient care and discharge planning
- Maintain compliance with Mater policies, procedures and infection-prevention standards to support a safe environment
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and service delivery
- Support and mentor students and less experienced staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth
- Ensure accurate, timely and professional clinical documentation and communication with patients, families and colleagues
About you
You are a dedicated and patient-focused Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is committed to delivering exceptional care. You will bring:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated experience in an acute medical or similar acute care setting
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Commitment to Mater’s Values, patient safety and quality care standards
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and time-management skills
- Willingness to support students and contribute to ongoing team development
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement, professional growth and reflective practice
