About the role

Mater Research is seeking a motivated Clinical Trial Assistant to join our dynamic Clinical Trial Team based at Aubigny Place, South Brisbane. This full-time, 12-month maximum-term role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful management and coordination of cutting-edge clinical trials within a world-class research environment. You will play a vital role in supporting clinical trial coordinators and gaining valuable experience in clinical research at a leading institute committed to improving patient care.

Salary range: $67,143 to $77030  per year plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

You will assist in the day-to-day administration and coordination of research projects within the Mother and Baby Clinical Trials Unit, including supporting regulatory submissions and maintaining trial documentation in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

This position will require an early start for a research project that involves collection of placental tissue in the delivery room. Flexible working hours.

Your role will involve liaising with internal and external stakeholders, assisting with participant recruitment and data management, and facilitating monitoring activities. You will also contribute to quality control and help ensure trials are conducted according to protocol and regulatory requirements.

About you

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Completion of a relevant undergraduate degree in a health or research-related discipline
  • Awareness of Australian clinical trial regulatory frameworks, including ICH GCP and NHMRC guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative and sound judgement
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English

Desirable:

  • Experience or interest in medical research
  • Understanding of standard operating procedures and data management
