About the role
Mater Health is seeking an experienced Medical Imaging and Radiation Safety Quality Manager to join our South Brisbane campus on a full-time, maximum-term contract through to January 2026.
Reporting to the Contract Manager (Medical Imaging), this role plays a critical part in strengthening quality assurance, compliance and radiation safety across Mater’s imaging services. Designed with flexibility in mind, this position offers the opportunity to deliver tangible, high-impact outcomes within a short-term contract while supporting safe, compliant and high-quality diagnostic imaging services across the organisation.
Salary range: $62.74 - $67.20 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will lead quality, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure imaging services and radiation practices meet best practice, legislative and organisational standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Interpreting legislation, guidelines and regulatory frameworks to inform contemporary action plans, policies, procedures and work instructions
- Leading quality assurance, compliance and radiation safety initiatives across medical imaging services
- Developing, reviewing and maintaining compliance frameworks aligned with current standards and accreditation requirements
- Preparing and managing documentation for audits, accreditation and regulatory reporting
- Monitoring KPIs, service delivery metrics and radiation safety compliance to drive improvements
- Leading audits, risk assessments and quality improvement activities
- Providing expert advice and subject matter expertise to radiographers, clinical educators and multidisciplinary teams
- Working closely with the Business Services team, radiographers and Mater leadership to support service delivery and project outcomes
- Supporting the integration of new technologies, systems and processes to improve operational efficiency
- Reporting on progress, risks and deliverables to key stakeholders within agreed timeframes
About you
You are a proactive quality and compliance professional who thrives in complex healthcare environments and is motivated by delivering meaningful outcomes.
You will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Medical Imaging, Health Administration, Education or a related discipline
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in quality management, compliance or project coordination within healthcare or education
- Demonstrated expertise in interpreting legislation, regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
- Strong experience in policy development, documentation and audit preparation
- Proven ability to manage compliance frameworks and risk management strategies
- Excellent written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to collaborate and influence across multidisciplinary clinical and corporate teams
- High attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement, patient safety and service excellence
