Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Dietician Team Leader to join us in a Permanent, Full-Time role. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. As Mater’s first new public hospital in over 60 years, this state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With 174 public beds, ICU, maternity, emergency and surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
Salary range: $64.64 – $69.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As the Dietitian Team Leader, you will provide leadership and high-quality clinical dietetic services across Mater Hospital Springfield. Reporting to the Allied Health Manager, you will lead a team of HP3 Dietitians and relevant Allied Health Assistants, ensuring safe, effective and evidence-based care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the delivery of competent to complex clinical dietetic services for inpatients and outpatients.
- Providing clinical supervision, mentoring and professional guidance to HP3 Dietitians
- Managing a clinical workload and supporting equitable distribution of caseloads across the team
- Leading the development, review and implementation of dietetic clinical practices, procedures and protocols
- Identifying, developing and implementing quality improvement and service development initiatives
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary stakeholders across the Springfield region and broader Mater network
- Providing professional advice to patients, families, carers and healthcare professionals
- Supporting education and supervision of students and staff
About you
You’re an experienced, compassionate Dietician Team Leader who thrives on supporting others and delivering patient-focused community care. You’re confident in your clinical judgement, committed to best practice and skilled at guiding and mentoring emerging professionals.
- Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics, required
- Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) or Provisional APD status
- Current driver’s licence valid in Queensland
- Demonstrate a base level of knowledge, expertise and skill in Dietetics, ideally in an acute hospital setting
- Proven ability to provide complex dietetic care and supervise clinical staff
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to patient care
