About the role
Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Administration Officer to join our Endoscopy Bookings team on a casual basis, based at our South Brisbane campus. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced, high-volume environment where your organisational skills and attention to detail will directly support the coordination of critical endoscopy procedures for public patients. You’ll be part of a supportive administration team that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient experiences and ensuring efficient use of theatre lists.
Salary range: $32.02 - $37.35 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will provide high-quality administrative support to ensure the smooth coordination of endoscopy bookings and patient pathways. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing endoscopy bookings, amendments and cancellations within a high-volume environment
- Communicating with patients via phone and email to confirm attendance and provide appointment information
- Coordinating replacement cases to optimise theatre list utilisation
- Undertaking accurate data entry, filing, scanning and record maintenance
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence and documentation
- Supporting operational efficiency through adherence to procedures, timelines and quality standards
- Working collaboratively with Senior Administration Officers, clinicians and wider interprofessional teams
About you
You are a motivated administration professional who thrives in a busy healthcare environment and is committed to delivering an exceptional patient experience. You will bring:
- Previous administration experience, ideally within a medical or healthcare setting (highly regarded)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and time-sensitive tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and compassionate phone manner
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly learn health information systems
- A team-focused approach, demonstrating initiative, sound judgement and accountability
