About the role

Mater Hospital Brisbane Intensive Care Unit is looking for Registered Nurses to join the team in a permanent, full-time role (we are open to 30 or 38 hours per week).

The Mater Intensive Care Units are an integrated public and private critical care service provided across two intensive care units. We have a friendly and skilled team that excels in caring for a variety of patient groups including complex surgical patients, neurosurgical and neurological conditions, life-threatening medical conditions, critically ill obstetric patients and critically ill oncology/haematology patients.

If you currently reside in Australia (preferably Brisbane) and are seeking sponsorship, we are open to discussing this with you. If you live outside of Brisbane please note we are not paying for relocation.

Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As a Registered Nurse in ICU, you will have a strong patient-service focus, demonstrated commitment to continued service improvement, willingness to facilitate and encourage cohesive, positive professional relationships and be required to demonstrate problem-solving skills to improve patient care outcomes relevant to the ward.

You will work closely with the nursing team of CNs, RNs and AINs to seamlessly integrate to this friendly and professional team.  This challenging and rewarding position will utilise your abilities and see you become a valued member of the team. 

About you

To be considered for this position you will have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in ICU
  • Ability to work a flexible roster consisting of 12-hour shifts, 50% day/night split
  • Graduate Certificate in Intensive Care Nursing, or if no certification open to doing the transition program
  • Recent working experience in Intensive Care
