About the role

Mater Digital Technology is currently looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator (SharePoint) to join the team in a permanent full-time position.

In this role, you will support the administration and ongoing support of Maters SharePoint Online environment. You will help keep it secure, well-governed, easy to use, enabling collaboration, document management and knowledge sharing across the organisation.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, site owners and digital teams to design and maintain SharePoint solutions and information structures that meet business needs. This includes managing permissions, content structures and governance standards and supporting the adoption of Microsoft 365 tools that connect with SharePoint.

This is a hands-on role SharePoint administration role with a strong focus on governance, user enablement, and continuous improvement.

Salary range: $54.57 - $59.38 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Administer and support SharePoint Online including site set up, permissions, libraries, lists, content types, and integrations.
  • Support stakeholders with Microsoft Lists, including views, formatting, rules, and simple automation.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SharePoint-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and improve SharePoint solutions, (communication sites, document repositories and collaboration spaces)
  • Maintain and uplift governance standards, including naming conventions, metadata standards, access controls, sharing settings and site lifecycle management.
  • Monitor service health, usage and security/compliance settings using Microsoft 365 admin tools, and implement improvements as needed.
  • Support adoption and integration of Microsoft 365 tools connected to SharePoint (for example Teams, OneDrive and Power Automate).
  • Provide guidance to site owners and citizen developers through templates, documentation, training and best practice advice.
  • Contribute to projects such as migrations, content tidy-ups and improvements to information structure (how content is organised and found).
  • Stay current with Microsoft updates and recommend practical enhancements to improve usability, consistency and governance. 

About you

You are a technically strong SharePoint professional who combines deep platform knowledge with strong stakeholder engagement capability.

You bring:

  • Relevant IT qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience administering SharePoint Online environments in a medium to large organisation with focus on security, governance, and making it easy for people to use.
  • Strong understanding of permissions and sharing, and confidence setting up sites, libraries and information structures that make content easy to find and manage.
  • Good working knowledge of how SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive work together for collaboration and document management.
  • Experience supporting business users with Microsoft Lists and common use cases (views, formatting, rules and light automation).
  • Familiarity with Power Automate (and ideally Power Apps) to support simple workflows/forms connected to SharePoint.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to explain solutions in plain language to non-technical users.
  • Confident engaging with stakeholders, with clear communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders, balancing business needs with governance and compliance expectations.
  • Knowledge of privacy, data governance and compliance in a healthcare or enterprise environment is desirable
