About the role

Mater Health Services and Eve Health, in conjunction with AGES (Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society), are offering a unique training opportunity for a Fellow in Laparoscopic Gynaecological surgery. Recognising the limited opportunities for Senior Registrars to develop advanced laparoscopic skills we are offering a 12-month max term position commencing in February 2027 for one talented new Fellow to join our service.

This position is fully accredited by AGES as a Fellow in Laparoscopic Gynaecological Surgery. For exceptional candidates, there may be the opportunity for a job-share arrangement or adjunct role.

Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

This role provides a new Fellow the opportunities to further develop their laparoscopic skills in both a public and private setting, to be actively involved in Australia’s premier gynaecological surgical simulation curriculum, to practice independently as a Specialist supported by senior colleagues, and to also be able to maintain general and high-risk obstetric skills with rostered Birth Suite sessions in the largest women’s health service in the country. 

This position offers excellent experience in minimal access and Robotic surgery, working with AGES accredited training supervisors in advanced endoscopic surgery. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in the teaching of Registrars, residents and students, and contribute to the promotion of the Mater and Eve Health as Centres of Excellence through ongoing professional development, simulation teaching and training, mentoring of colleagues, quality audit and research. 

The Fellow will work closely with sub-specialist laparoscopic surgeons with interests in endometriosis, leiomyoma, fertility and persistent pelvic pain. Participation in the multidisciplinary Mater Persistent Pelvic Pain clinic enables candidates to work alongside pain specialists, gynaecologists and allied health professionals with expertise in the management of this condition.

About you

New Fellows (who have FRANZCOG, or its equivalent, or who are expected to attain FRANZCOG in early 2027) and final year trainees are encouraged to apply.  

Applicants will need to be eligible for registration with AHPRA and the Medical Board of Australia.

This is an exceptional opportunity offering a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the role. Full remuneration is contingent on eligibility for Medicare billing; where this requirement is not met, a reduced remuneration package will apply.
