About the role

The Mater Health Administration Services team is thrilled to offer two exciting opportunities for Administration Officers to join our Front Reception areas. These roles are based at Mater’s South Brisbane Campus and are offered on a permanent part-time, 24 hours per week and a casual basis.

Salary range: $32.02 - $37.35 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

Your role as a Front Receptionist with a focus on medical administration will involve, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Greeting and Welcoming Patients: Be the first smiling face our patients see, setting the tone for an exceptional experience
  • Handling Inquiries: Answer and direct incoming phone calls, emails, and inquiries in a timely and courteous manner
  • Reception Area Management: Keep our reception area not just tidy, but a welcoming oasis for all patients and visitors
  • Maintaining Confidentiality: Manage and maintain accurate files, records, and discussions with the utmost discretion, adhering to all administrative and financial policies
  • Administrative Support: Dive into tasks like data entry, filing, and document prep, ensuring everything is in its right place
  • Departmental Collaboration: Liaise effortlessly with various departments, fostering smooth communication and workflow
  • Senior Management Support: Offer indispensable support to our senior management, making sure their administrative needs are met with excellence

About you

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven Experience: Relevant experience in a similar role
  • Organisational Skills: Strong ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks, ensuring that every detail is attended to with care
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Professionalism: Consistently maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanour. Uphold the standards of the organization through reliable, ethical behaviour, and courteous interactions with colleagues, patients, and visitors
  • Flexibility: Availability for all shifts across a 5-day working week between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other relevant software. The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and systems is essential
  • Medical Administration Experience: Previous experience in a medical administration role is highly valued and will be considered an asset
