About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsville has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrator to join our busy Patient Services Department. This is a casual position averaging 2–4 shifts per week, dependent on hospital activity levels. We are seeking a flexible and reliable individual, with shifts rostered between 5:45am and 10:00pm, Monday to Sunday.
The Patient Services teams are accountable for the end-to-end patient journey. These key functions include theatre bookings/administration, patient registration, admissions and customer experience, ward reception, health records, patient billings, public contracts and sessional suites.
Salary range: $32.02 - $37.35 per hours plus 25% Casual Loading plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Tasks may include but are not limited to;
- Coordinating patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely delivery of administrative services
- Structuring and managing outpatient clinic appointments
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with consultants
- Preparing, tracking, filing, and maintaining medical records
- Assisting with patient billing processes
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Demonstrated ability to work methodically with speed, efficiency, and exceptional attention to detail in a time-pressured environment.
- Proven experience working in an administrative role within a medical or hospital environment or extensive data entry experience.
- Sound computer literacy and numeracy skills, well-developed keyboard skills, and familiarity with patient administration systems.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and ability to work under the direction of others in a multidisciplinary team environment.
