We are now seeking an experienced and inspiring leader to take on the role of General Manager – Mater Hospital Brisbane. This permanent, full-time position, based at our South Brisbane campus, offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact within one of Australia’s leading healthcare organisations.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Executive Director Mater Hospitals, you will be responsible for leading and managing the integrated operations of Mater Hospital Brisbane located at our South Brisbane Campus. Mater Hospital Brisbane is a 300 + bed, Level 6 training facility, with ED, ICU, CCU, Cancer Centre, and busy medical and surgical units with subspecialty services. The portfolio includes women’s cancer services (the largest provider in Queensland), Catherines House which is Australia’s largest integrated perinatal mental health service, and the Mater Young Adult Health Centre.
Working collaboratively as part of the Mater Health senior leadership team you will be accountable for optimising operational and financial performance whilst working with the team to continually improve services, ensuring they are patient and outcomes focused, financially sustainable and operating with the highest safety and quality standards.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
About you
You are a passionate people leader who thrives on working cohesively whilst leading from the front. You will be a team player, commercially focused with a demonstrated ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
Other specific characteristics
- Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in business, finance, healthcare management or human behaviour discipline
- Experience leading in a clinical context is highly desirable
- Proven experience in operational hospital management with a track record of successfully managing complex operations
