About the role

Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast is seeking Registered Nurses to work within our Anaesthetics team. These positions will be employed on a permanent part-time and casual basis. Mater has finalised the strategic acquisition of Healthscope’s Gold Coast Private Hospital, this is a significant milestone in Mater’s commitment to delivering exceptional and compassionate care to Queensland communities.

Based at our Gold Coast Campus, this role will be part of our state-of-the-art 339 bed facility located in Southport. This facility was established in 2016 and offers a wide range of specialities across Emergency, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastics, ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology.

Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

As an Anaesthetic Nurse at Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast, you will be at the forefront of providing essential support to our patients and the clinical team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the management of anaesthesia care, including preoperative assessment and intraoperative monitoring
  • Ensuring patient safety during anaesthesia, managing potential complications, and maintaining a high level of clinical expertise
  • Providing effective post-anaesthesia care and managing postoperative recovery
  • Working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and the wider nursing team to deliver high-quality care
  • Acting as a patient advocate and ensuring optimal outcomes throughout the perioperative journey
  • Contributing to the ongoing improvement and sustainability of our department

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse (no restrictions)
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an acute Nurse in a hospital setting (Anaesthetic experience highly regarded)
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and clinical judgment
  • ALS certification (desirable)
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making abilities
  • A passion for delivering patient-centred care and continuous professional development
