About the role

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for an experienced Clinical Nurse – Anaesthetics to join our Perioperative Services team in a full-time, permanent position.

Based at our growing Springfield campus, you'll be part of one of Queensland's newest and most advanced healthcare facilities. The state-of-the-art hospital has been purpose-built to meet the needs of the rapidly expanding Greater Springfield community and features a contemporary perioperative service with (soon to be) 10 operating theatres across the public and private hospitals. With a comprehensive range of services including intensive care, maternity, emergency, medical and surgical care, the Springfield campus is set to care for more than 200,000 patients each year, making this an exciting opportunity to build your career in a collaborative, innovative and patient-focused environment.

Salary range: $57.48 - $61.55 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

As a Clinical Nurse, you'll combine advanced clinical expertise with leadership to support outstanding patient outcomes and the smooth operation of the Anaesthetics team. You will:

  • Deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based nursing care across the Anaesthetics service.
  • Coordinate and lead patient care, ensuring exceptional clinical outcomes through effective assessment, planning and evaluation.
  • Provide clinical leadership, guidance and mentorship to nursing staff and support their professional development.
  • Act as a clinical resource and team leader, assisting with the day-to-day coordination of the unit when required.
  • Collaborate closely with anaesthetists, surgeons and the multidisciplinary team to deliver seamless patient care.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and support the implementation of best practice and innovative models of care.
  • Promote a positive, safe and patient-focused culture aligned with Mater's Mission and Values.

About you

You're an experienced perioperative nurse with a passion for clinical leadership, patient-centred care and supporting the growth of others. You will bring:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant clinical specialty (postgraduate qualification or working towards is highly regarded).
  • Minimum three years' experience within Anaesthetics specialty.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and the ability to lead and coordinate patient care in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring and team coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, evidence-based practice and delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
