About the role

Mater Private Hospital Brisbane are currently looking for Quality and Safety Associates based at our South Brisbane campus. This role will be offered on a permanent part time 16 hours per week.

This position will report to the MPHB Quality and Safety Manager and as part of the team aid the clinical department managers in the analysis of quality and safety issues identified.

Salary: $57.48 - $61.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Assist with the review of clinical incidents
  • Assist with the management and review of complaints and compliments
  • Assist the implementation of innovation and systems improvement that eliminate/reduce patient harm
  • Assist with the collection and analysis of patient safety and clinical outcome data to evidence the effectiveness of the quality and safety system
  • Support the Quality and Safety Manager to improve the effectiveness of the quality system and monitor compliance with policies, the implementation of corrective and preventive actions and survey recommendations
  • Monitor literature and professional organizations for new or revised best practice related to quality and safety
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the hospital’s quality and safety program and provide education / training related to quality and safety, incident investigation and management and the use of Incident reporting tools as required

About you

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrated experience in developing working relationships to achieved identified outcomes and an ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to provide empathetic communication in difficult situations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in health service delivery with appropriate clinical knowledge, experience and skills is essential including a basic understanding of care processes provided in multiple areas of the hospital
  • Demonstrated experience or a willingness to gain an understanding of quality improvement initiatives and their practical application
  • Demonstrated experience or a willingness to develop analytical skills to trend and interpret data and provide reports on data / information used for projects, evaluation and process improvement activities
