About the role

Mater Hospitals South East Queensland have casual opportunities for dedicated and detail-oriented Health Records Scanning Officers to join our Information Management - Scanning team. This team works across multiple sites including Mater Hospital Springfield, Mater Private Hospital Redlands and all sites based at Mater South Brisbane Campus.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting patient care by ensuring health information is accurately digitised, securely managed, and readily available within Mater’s digital health record system. Working within a collaborative healthcare environment, you'll contribute to the efficient management of clinical information that supports quality care across the hospital.

Salary range: $32.02 - $37.35 per hour plus casual loading plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

As a key member of the Health Records team, you will support the accurate and timely processing of patient information through a range of document management activities.

You will:

  • Ensure the accurate and timely digitisation of documents and processing of information into the Mater health record to support the provision of clinical care
  • Maintain high data integrity by validating patient identification and encounter information through accurate data and document verification during scanning and quality assurance processes
  • Fulfil end-to-end scanning workflow operational requirements, including receiving, tracking, batching, preparing, scanning, and filing of physical documents and processing of digital information
  • Ensure efficient processing of high-volume documentation such as current attendance records (CARs), ambulatory records, referrals, and loose-leaf documentation
  • Prioritise workloads to meet agreed service demands and expectations and key performance indicators

About you

You are a highly organised and reliable administration professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. You understand the importance of confidentiality and enjoy working as part of a team that supports essential healthcare services.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous high-volume document management processing knowledge and skills 
  • Administration experience in a hospital or health setting 
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience working with electronic records or document management systems
  • Strong computer literacy and confidence working across multiple systems
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to maintaining privacy, confidentiality and compliance standards
