Mater Foundation are looking for a Marketing Specialist to join the team! This permanent, full-time role will be based at our Newstead office.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the marketing delivery of a portfolio of community fundraising campaigns while playing a key role in shaping and optimising supporter communications through email marketing, audience segmentation, personalisation and marketing automation.
The portfolio currently includes iconic fundraising campaigns such as the Noosa Triathlon, Smiddy Cycle Challenge and the Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle for Cancer, together with a range of community fundraising initiatives that engage supporters and drive fundraising outcomes.
Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, Digital & Campaigns, you'll work closely with stakeholders across Mater Foundation to coordinate campaign activity, manage priorities and deliver high-quality marketing outcomes that strengthen supporter engagement and fundraising performance.
A significant focus of this role is the planning, development and execution of targeted email marketing campaigns and automated supporter journeys. Leveraging data insights, audience segmentation and personalisation, you'll deliver relevant and engaging communications that support acquisition, participation, fundraising, retention and long-term supporter loyalty.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of campaigns, building strong stakeholder relationships and combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
We're looking for a marketer who is equally comfortable developing campaign plans as they are building email journeys, analysing performance metrics and identifying opportunities to continuously improve the supporter experience through data-driven marketing.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the marketing strategy and delivery of assigned community fundraising campaigns
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Corporate & Community Engagement, Marketing and Business Support
- Develop and deliver email and SMS campaigns through Braze, including audience segmentation, journey mapping and automation
- Lead year-round supporter email engagement and stewardship activity to strengthen retention and email deliverability
- Develop and schedule organic social media content across Facebook and Instagram
- Develop campaign website copy and content to support campaign rollout
- Create digital marketing assets in Canva for email, social media and website
- Manage campaign plans, timelines and dependencies to keep activity on track
- Monitor campaign and channel performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve results
- Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team culture
About you
You're a highly organised marketer who enjoys taking ownership of campaigns and seeing them through from planning to execution. You’re comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on delivery and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where relationship building, collaboration and attention to detail are key to success.
You bring a strong understanding of direct supporter communications and enjoy creating engaging customer journeys that drive participation, fundraising and retention outcomes. Whether developing an email campaign, planning organic social activity or reviewing campaign performance, you're equally comfortable thinking strategically and rolling up your sleeves to deliver.
You'll be someone who enjoys working across multiple campaigns and stakeholder groups, bringing structure, organisation and a solutions-focused mindset to everything you do. Most importantly, you're passionate about creating meaningful supporter experiences and motivated by the opportunity to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation making a genuine difference in the community.
You'll bring:
- Minimum five years' experience in a marketing, digital marketing or campaign management role
- Experience using a marketing automation platform to develop and deliver email and SMS communications (Braze preferred)
- Experience developing customer or supporter journeys, audience segmentation and automation workflows
- Experience managing organic social media content and campaigns
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Strong campaign management and organisational capability, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience analysing campaign and channel performance and translating insights into action
- Strong written communication skills and experience developing content across digital channels
- Experience using Canva or similar design platforms to create marketing assets
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or a related discipline
- Experience within fundraising, philanthropy, not-for-profit, healthcare or higher education sectors will be highly regarded
