About the role

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our growing Rehabilitation ward. We offer excellent flexibility, with opportunities ranging from Permanent Part-Time (0.6 FTE) through to Full-Time employment available. Choose the arrangement that best suits your lifestyle! To be considered for this opportunity, this role requires participation in a 24/7 rotating roster including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

Located within our 12-bed Rehab ward, we care for a diverse range of orthopaedic, general medical, and surgical patients as we support them on their journey to functional recovery and safe return home. Our rehabilitation service is founded on a multidisciplinary approach, where nursing staff collaborate closely with specialists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, speech therapists, dietitians, exercise physiologists, psychologists, podiatrists, orthotists/prosthetists, and pharmacists to ensure optimal patient outcomes are achieved. Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

• Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
• You will provide technical assistance during procedures, ensuring excellent standards of nursing care at all times. 
• Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
• Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
• Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
• Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

About you

Other skills and experience include:

• Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
• Minimum 12 months post graduate experience
• Demonstrated rehabilitation nursing experience 
• Ability to work in an ever-changing and fast paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with all levels of the multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is always delivered to patients at all times.
