Your Role:
As a Housing Manager, you will provide team leadership, site management, and lead a team that provides occupancy and asset management services, connecting residents with the services they need to sustain their temporary occupancies and transition to longer term housing. You'll lead a team that works together to provide secure, safe accommodation with access to support services that empower residents to live life their way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of housing and support staff
- Ensure that service delivery and financial targets are met
- Manage Housing in accordance with policies and procedures
- Ensure close liaison with DCJ and local support services
- Maintain accurate records ensuring all legislative requirements are met and follow the WHS and Community Services & Housing manuals
- Manage referrals of problems and make decisions with confidence in own area of responsibility
- Facilitate eligibility checks, allocation of properties, calculation of rent and orientation of new occupants, involving tours, applications, medical information, etc
- Facilitate breaches of occupancy including rent arrears, nuisance and annoyance issues, neighbour disputes
- Oversee the preparation of Occupancy Agreements and organise sign ups and renewals
- Monitor budget expenditure on a monthly basis and report on variances in accordance with BaptistCare policies
- Maintain viable services by operating within budget
- Recruit, orientate and supervise staff
- Recruit, orientate and provide mandatory training for volunteers
Skills & Experience:
- Hold a Diploma or degree, or equivalent with professional experience
- Previous customer service skills and experience, preferably in housing, or other community services field
- Demonstrated leadership experience to effectively develop and support staff
- Demonstrated ability to manage the business activities of Housing or similar
- Excellent skills in building effective customer relationships, building a community and maintaining a welcoming and harmonious ambience
- Demonstrated capability to manage diversity and implement social inclusion strategies
- Ability to work in harmony with, and support the Purpose and Values of BaptistCare
- A Valid NSW Driver's License
- NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment purposes
- A current First Aid Certificate
