About your new role:

The Clinical Educator Lead will oversee a team of clinical educators across 12 residential homes in Western Australia. You will supervise the planning, delivery, and evaluation of best practice training for residential care employees, ensuring alignment with BaptistCare policies and procedures. This role involves meeting the education development needs of staff and ensuring training content adheres to the Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards, the organisational plan for continuous improvement, and individual home improvement plans.

As part of the Residential Clinical Governance Team, you will:

  • Provide leadership and management of residential clinical educators, ensuring consistency of education and training approaches across all homes.
  • Coordinate and oversees the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning and development programs.
  • Implement the BaptistCare Training Matrix, including ensuring mandatory competency assessment schedules are in place.
  • Develop, in consultation with Quality Improvement and Clinical Systems Manager (your manager) and the Clinical Educators, a yearly education and training plan for residential services.
  • Ensure a residential services training needs analysis is undertaken as part of the development of the yearly education and training plan.
  • Ensure the clinical educators maintain accurate training records through use of the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Audit and monitor compliance with mandatory training in consultation with the clinical educators and provide reporting to your manager.
  •   Provide other reports to your manager as requested in regard to your portfolio.
  • Develop plans to respond to non-compliance with mandatory training, in consultation with the clinical educator and Manager of Residential Care (MRCs) at the home/s.
  • Oversee the development of training resources and/or programs which respond to organisational requirements, in collaboration with the clinical educator.
  • Facilitate and deliver training and education for support services and homes, as directed by your manager.
  • Source and collaborate with external training providers as required.
  • Ensure orientation programs meet organisational requirements in collaboration with clinical educators, senior management team and colleagues from other parts of the organisation.
  • Participate in quality activities as part of the Clinical Governance Team and as directed by your manager.
  • Work in accordance with BaptistCare and the Aged Care Codes of Conduct.
  • Ensure safe and sound work practices that comply with Work, Health and Safety policies and procedures and relevant legislation

Skills and Experience:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with 5 years’ experience, including 1-2 years’ experience in a leadership role, within residential aged care and/or acute care environments.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
  • Sound knowledge of training, learning and development principles and practices.
  • Skilled at developing and delivering training programs, including experience with public speaking and presentations.
  • Ability to manage time, set priorities and plan workload to meet objectives.
  • Ability to manage small projects and activities simultaneously, allocating time and resources appropriately to meet the overall organisational objectives.
  • Well-developed communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with key stake holders to achieve agreed results and outcomes.

  • Commitment to providing a customer-centric approach and delivery of key performance indicators as identified for role.

 Desirable Qualifications:

  • Higher education qualifications at Bachelor’s/Master level in an education related discipline or clinical area.
  • High level understanding of Aged Care Quality and Safety Standard

Conditions of Employment

  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout the state to homes in the BaptistCare portfolio, and occasionally interstate
