About the Role:
At BaptistCare HopeStreet, we seek to transform the lives of people in our communities who are living with disadvantage or experiencing great personal trials.
As a Cook, you will be responsible for meeting the nutritional requirements of clients who attend the drop-in service within the allocated budget. You will coordinate the operation of the kitchen to ensure the provision of high-quality catering services to clients according to legislation, food safety standards, and BaptistCare policy and procedures.
Our team works together to create trusted places where people gather, community is strong, and lives are transformed. We walk with each person to understand the unique circumstances of their life and we empower them to live well through practical and reliable support.
About You:
- Certificate III or equivalent in hospitality/catering
- Previous experience in commercial cooking
- Experience with economic food ordering, menu planning, and stocktaking
- Demonstrated ability of compassion and empathy to marginalised society members.
- Willingness to undergo a police check and necessary background checks
