About the role

BaptistCare Warena Gardens is seeking a Catering/Servery Assistant on a par time basis to present and deliver high quality nutritious meals to our residents. You will enjoy working in a large team who are committed and being able make a difference in the lives of residents.

There are a variety of shifts available: 7am-2pm / 3pm-7pm

This role requires 32 hours per fortnight.

Duties may include:

• Assistance in basic meal preparation and serving
• Making tea and coffee
• Assisting Chefs with food prep when required
• Working to achieve and maintain a high standard of cleanliness
• Checking and recording temperature of food
• Following all Food Safety Guidelines and HACCP program
• Assisting with deliveries of stock and stock rotation
     

About you

The successful applicant will be a team player who enjoys interacting with older people and has the right heart and drive to serve.

• Previous kitchen/servery experience in a similar role
• Understanding of work health and safety practices 
• Ability to work unsupervised and take on physically demanding tasks
• Previous experience in aged care (desirable)
• Willingness to work as part of a busy, friendly team
• Strong focus, positive attitude and is well organised
• Excellent communication skills
