About the Role:

The General Manager (GM), Housing (National) is a senior national leader within the Community & Housing division, responsible for the strategic leadership, operational oversight, and growth of housing services across all jurisdictions.

This role leads the implementation of scalable, evidence-based housing models, partnering with state GMs, operational leaders, and enabling teams to ensure consistent systems, regulatory compliance, and service quality. It drives the delivery of housing initiatives aligned to BaptistCare’s strategic priorities and mission.

The GM contributes to national impact through effective leadership, internal capability-building, and meaningful collaboration with government, community partners, and internal stakeholders. The role fosters innovation, cultural alignment, and operational excellence across the housing portfolio.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, real estate, human services, or a related discipline
  • Leadership experience in a related role within human services operation
  • In-depth knowledge of national and state legislation and compliance frameworks for housing services
  • Proven skills in implementing and developing business systems and processes
  • Highly developed interpersonal and people management skills and ability to work harmoniously in a team environment
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills with experience in business analysis
  • Proven ability to lead complex change, support diverse teams, and deliver against high-level goal
  • Ability to improve the client experience through innovative practices
  • Experience engaging with government funders, regulators, and strategic partners
  • Familiarity with community housing, tenancy management, and property development contexts
  • Demonstrated quality, change and risk management skills and experience
  • Demonstrated planning, monitoring and evaluation skills and experience
  • Experience working within a faith-based, not-for-profit, or mission-led organisation is an advantage
