Research Assistant I/II in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Public Health (Ref.: 534188) (to commence as soon as possible for a one-year temporary term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in science, biology, medical/biomedical sciences or related disciplines, with relevant experience in microbiology and molecular biology. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua), and the ability to work discretely when handling biological specimens and confidential data. They should be a good team player with passion and self-initiative in research. Experiences in processing biological samples for bacterial culture, DNA extraction, and/or bioinformatic analysis would be an advantage.

The appointee will provide research support to the daily operation of a team working on antimicrobial resistance. He/She will assist in microbiological test, protocol development, laboratory experiments, data collection and analysis, procurement and budget management; and perform other duties as assigned.
