About the role: 
At the University of Canberra, our Graduate Research School (GRS) supports a thriving community of researcher candidates shaping innovation across disciplines. We are seeking an HDR Finance and Reporting Coordinator to provide expert financial and data analysis support that underpins the integrity and sustainability of our higher degree by research programs.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the financial administration of HDR scholarships, manage complex reconciliations and acquittals, and ensure compliance with government and university policy. You will also play a key role in delivering data-driven insights, advanced modelling, and strategic reporting that inform decision-making and planning across the University.
Key responsibilities: 
Lead financial administration and reconciliations for HDR scholarships. 
Manage scholarship acquittals, ensuring compliance, timely reimbursements, and resolution of discrepancies. 
Provide strategic financial insights, forecasting, and modelling to support budgeting and planning. 
Collaborate with teams to monitor budgets, identify risks, and implement process improvements. 
Develop and maintain accurate financial reporting systems and dashboards. 
 
  About you: 
Proficient in Excel, Power Query, and data modelling. 
Comfortable working with data from multiple systems and ensuring data integrity. 
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and reprioritise in response to changing demands. 
Proven ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and meet deadlines. 
A collaborative and solutions-focused mindset with strong communication skills. 
Strong analytical and financial reporting abilities with attention to detail.
