About the opportunity:

The University of Canberra is seeking a highly organised and proactive Senior Secretariat Coordinator to play a pivotal role in supporting our key governance bodies, including the University Council, Academic Board, and their committees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage responsibilities autonomously.
  • Manage Academic Governance committees that meet a minimum six times a year.
  • Provide high-quality secretariat support, including preparing agendas, assembling papers, taking accurate minutes, and coordinating meeting logistics.
  • Liaise with committee and board members, offering timely advice and ensuring smooth communication with staff submitting papers.
  • Coordinate governance projects such as elections, graduations, induction materials, Annual Report content, and website updates.

  • Superior writing, editing, and proof-reading abilities.
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently when required.
