About the Opportunity

As Discova’s E-commerce Manager, you will have the opportunity to drive sales and maximise yield for our day tours and experiences, transfers and other Discova-operated and contracted experiences across Asia, primarily sold through online travel agencies (OTAs). Your expertise in e-distribution will be instrumental in creating compelling offers that sell and showcase our tours on these channels via strategic account management tools and techniques.

 

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must have a keen interest in a variety of topics related to our product themes and an in-depth interest in the online travel space.

 

This position offers an opportunity to break away from the traditional framework of the online distribution sector, explore your potential, and leverage your expertise in the field.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Curate and refine product listings, including descriptions, itineraries, and visuals, to maximize customer appeal and achieve product optimization
  • Collaborate with operations to optimize product availability and pricing for real-time confirmation through proper inventory management.
  • Underline the importance of strategic sales channel management in maximizing sales across direct, OTA, partnership, and internal channels, as it is a crucial aspect of increasing revenue and profitability. Establish and maintain strong relationships with OTAs and partners, identifying new opportunities for growth as part of the business development tasks connected to e-Commerce OGSMs.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing to inform decision-making according to market demands and wishes.
  • Manage and develop a team of 2-4 direct reports, providing guidance, support, and performance reviews in various destinations.
  • Implement a strategy to proactively drive guest reviews and engage with reviewers to enhance the product's value proposition.
  • Highlight the role of effective inventory management and pricing strategies in maximizing group size and yield on tour departures, as it directly impacts revenue generation.
  • Identify and explore opportunities for peripheral and auxiliary revenue generation.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration with operations, country management, commercial, customer experience, and marketing teams.

 

About You

The Essentials

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the OTA segment, with a proven track record of success in acquiring and managing commercial partnerships.
  • A sold in-depth knowledge of e-commerce travel platforms, content management systems, and online distribution channels.
  • A sound understanding of Search Engine Optimalization and key word practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data to drive business decisions.
  • Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based technologies Cloud booking software, channel manager and e-Distribution systems (API/XML Connectivity)
  • A solid understanding of image formatting and editing.
