About the Opportunity
The Coordinator role will lead a number of policies, plans, strategies and initiatives that create healthy and socially connected communities and will be responsible for championing opportunities to support and enable community organisations to address need in Knox.
The role will develop effective community partnerships, lead the community grants program, building community capacity and identify and address emerging community needs.
This role will lead a team of 6 and have responsibility for a number of portfolios including Community Grants, Community Partnerships, Family Violence and Social Policy and Advocacy.
This is a full time, short-term secondment until 22 December 2024.
This is a Band 7 classified role, remuneration will be $107,507 plus superannuation in accordance with the superannuation guarantee.
What you will need to thrive
In order to thrive in this position you will have:
- Proven skills and experience in managing effective partnerships with community organisations and stakeholders with the ability to communicate clearly and with influence.
- Understanding of a range of complex social issues including family violence, social and affordable housing and food security
- The ability to assist with the management of Council's Community Grant programs.
- Highly developed understanding and demonstration of capacity building, community development practice and community planning.
- Well-developed and demonstrated capacity to work responsively at a high level in a complex, fast-paced environment, with competing priorities.
