About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join our newly branded Early Years Department (currently Family & Children’s Services) from January 2025. As the Policy and Planning Support Officer you will join the new Early Years Municipal Planning Team.  

The role of the Policy and Project Support Officer works actively with the Strategic Planning and Partnerships team to provide administrative support to strategic and operational projects and the quality document system in the Early Years Services Department.   

This is a full time permanent role based at our Civic Centre however we can offer a range of flexible work options for the right candidate. 

This is a Band 5 classified role, remuneration will be $78,036.84 - $90,793.94 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the superannuation guarantee.  

What you will need to thrive

The key selection criteria for this role are: 

  • Demonstrated commitment to working in a way that reflects Knox City Council and the Early Years Department values which includes working in an integrated, collaborative and innovative way with others.  

  • High level of proficiency in written and verbal communication.  

  • Demonstrated ability to perform efficiently within a small team and gain the cooperation and assistance of others when required.  

  • Demonstrated ability and experience in providing administrative support for projects including a proven understanding of project management methodology.   

  • Providing support and research for the development of policy.  

  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks concurrently.   

  • Proven skills in the use of Microsoft suite of products.
