About the opportunity

Due to a period of leave, we have an opportunity to step into the role of Communications Advisor from 1 July 2025 until 15 September 2025. 

The Communications Advisor empowers our diverse community to thrive and prosper by developing and implementing communications plans that effectively reach Council’s target audiences to achieve outcomes defined by the Council Plan. This role will help the community recognise the value Council provides by understanding what the community values and identifying opportunities to proactively highlight our everyday work. 

This is a Band 6 classified role. Remuneration will be $95,488.69 to $104,288.00 pro rata (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

What you will need to thrive

• Being curious about the world around you and the people in it, with a demonstrated ability to assess context and strategically plan and adjust communication accordingly.
• Think creatively and find new ways of reaching audiences to continually improve the effectiveness of communication.
• Ability to influence others and proactively identify and escalate project and communication risks.
• Be highly organised with strong project management skills to effectively balance competing priorities and demands.
