Key Responsibilities :
Maintain and Repair Electrical Systems
- Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance on electrical systems including wiring, panels, lighting, and circuits.
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance plans to maximize system longevity and reduce equipment downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
Install and Upgrade Electrical Infrastructure
- Install new electrical systems, including outlets, lighting fixtures, conduit, circuit breakers, and control systems for both new construction and renovation projects.
- Assist with the installation and troubleshooting of low-voltage cabling/wiring systems for access control and building automation.
- Safely isolate and switch mid-voltage distribution equipment on the Nampa Campus.
Troubleshoot and Ensure Compliance
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues using testing tools, schematics, and technical expertise.
- Conduct inspections and functional tests to ensure systems meet NEC, OSHA, and local code requirements.
- Address code compliance issues and document corrective actions.
Support Electrical Projects and Collaborate Across Departments
- Participate in planning and executing electrical projects, both independently and as part of a team.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain documentation of all installations, project activities, and equipment inventories.
What We're Looking For:
• Must possess a valid Idaho journeyman electrician license.
• Demonstrated journey-level experience in electrical maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting.
• In-depth understanding of electrical theory, applicable codes (including NEC), and safety regulations.
• Proficient in the use of electrical tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for diagnosing and addressing electrical issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with colleagues, contractors, and vendors.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks in various environmental conditions.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the College’s vehicle use policy.
Additional Instructions for Applicants:
*Most positions at CWI are in-person and based on campus. While some roles may allow up to two remote workdays per week, eligibility for remote work is determined on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the hiring manager. All candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a reasonable commuting distance from CWI. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
