Brief Statement of Duties
Brief Statement of Duties: Teach undergraduate lecture and lab courses in HVAC/R or related fields, maintain lab equipment and participate in program development. Advise undergraduate students, participate in committee assignments and undertake professional development activities. Will be expected to incorporate application of laptop computers in the learning environment. This is a campus based position.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: Associate's Degree
Discipline/Degree Area: HVAC/R or related field
Required Specialized Training/Certifications:
Required Minimum Work Experience: Five years (10,000 hours) of hands-on field experience (insallation or service) in refrigeration, heating, air conditioning or ventilation.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:
Strong knowledge base in HVAC/R as it relates to service and installation practices.
Understanding of principles and methods for course development, teaching and instruction for groups of individuals, and assessment of outcomes.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with peers and students.
Ability to work effectively and productively with others.
Time management skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Boiler Installers License (from any state).
Mechanical Contractor License (from any state)
EPA Certification-Federal Clean Air Act-Section 608.
Teaching experience in both a lecture and lab setting.
