As the Accountant at HBF, you’ll support our Financial Accounting team with everything from journal entries and reconciliations to helping prepare our year-end financial statements. You'll help ensure entries are accurate, reports are timely, and compliance is met.
What you'll be doing day-to-day
- Preparing and maintaining accurate balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports
- Supporting the month-end and year-end close process with journal entries, reporting and tax-related returns (FBT, BAS, and income tax)
- Assisting in the preparation of statutory financial statements across HBF
- Providing documentation and support during external audits
- Supporting ongoing finance operations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintaining financial controls and ensuring data integrity in our financial systems
About you
You're a detail-driven, curious, and collaborative finance professional who’s ready to take the next step in your accounting career within in a purposeful organisation. Your recent roles include accountant or assistant accountant and we welcome candidates with strong accounting experience and an interest in systems, regardless of formal certification pathway.
You’re comfortable working with numbers, systems, and tight deadlines, and you take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. Whether it’s month-end journals, financial reports, or complex reconciliations, you know how to get the details right while keeping the bigger picture in mind.
You enjoy working as part of a team, problem solving, happily pitch in, and share ideas that make processes smoother and outcomes more efficient. You value clear communication, own your responsibilities, and enjoy being part of a finance team that’s focused on continuous improvement.
