3-Month Secondment Opportunity: Communications Consultant

Due to leave backfill, we are seeking expressions of interest for a 3-month max term secondment opportunity as Communications Consultant within the Corporate Affairs team.

The Corporate Affairs function is entrusted to protect and enhance HBF’s reputation.  This includes managing HBF’s external communications – media affairs, government relations, and stakeholder engagement – and internal communications to our employees.  Joining a small but impactful team and reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Affairs, this role will deliver value through:

  • working with stakeholders in managing the content, timing, and delivery channel (e.g. Pulse content, all-employee emails, videos) for organisation-wide internal communications;
  • closely monitoring and summarising ongoing media, political, and stakeholder commentary on private health insurance in the media, which will be used to inform our media engagement strategies and shared with key internal stakeholders, including the CEO; and
  • supporting team processes in the delivery of current projects, including HBF’s annual report, internal communications for our HBF30 strategy, and a new people-leader forum called ‘Member Insights’.

This secondment provides a unique opportunity for someone with an interest or qualifications in communications to be able to gain experience in a team working on initiatives at the heart of HBF’s reputation.  You would possess strong written and verbal communication skills – which may include in areas such as Member Communications, Marketing, or Change – and experience in delivering clear communications across varied stakeholders.
