As the Corporate Development Lead within our Group Strategy team, you will drive the identification and delivery of impactful opportunities that accelerate HBF’s growth and strategic trajectory. From identifying and executing corporate transactions (e.g., M&A and other strategic investments), to securing meaningful partnerships, you’ll have a hand in the decisions that expand our reach and deliver greater value for our members.
What you’ll do:
- Research industries, markets, and trends to identify potential opportunities for HBF
- Lead the assessment of mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and other opportunities that align with our HBF30 strategy
- Build and develop financial models and business cases to support key stakeholders make bold but informed decisions
- Drive the full lifecycle of corporate development opportunities, including initial identification and strategic assessment, conducting due diligence, supporting negotiations, and post-deal integration
- Collaborate cross-functionally with senior leaders, advisors, and SME’s, bringing people together for robust conversations that drive decision-making
About you
You’re someone who gets excited about identifying opportunities and turning them into real results. You combine sharp commercial instincts with the ability to influence at a senior level, and you’re just as comfortable deep in a financial model as you are in a discussion with senior leaders. Ideally, you’ll bring:
- 4–7 years’ experience in corporate development, M&A, investment banking, private equity, or strategy
- Proven skills in financial modelling (including valuations), business case development, and deal execution and implementation
- A track record of working on end-to-end M&A processes, from research and due diligence through to negotiation and integration
- Strong communication and influencing skills, capable of guiding others and bringing people on the journey
- A curious, strategic mindset, with the drive to solve complex problems and deliver outcomes
