About the Role: 

Be part of a team responsible for designing, developing, managing, and reporting on strategic programs, including program implementation to support Uniting’s organisational objectives and deliver the Communities Directorates Business Plan.  We are looking for an innovative professional to join our team as the Strategic Project lead. In this role, you’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the use of project management methodologies and processes to deliver consistent high-quality service and operational outcomes.   

This role requires the full suite of project management capabilities, development and delivery of strategic engagement and communication activities and working with a range of stakeholders including external delivery partners. You will also be required to engage with internal teams to lead and support planning, change management, implementation, and reporting, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the planning, development, and execution of strategic projects. 
  • Collaborate across multiple functional areas and establish multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and develop communication strategies.
  • Monitor and report on project milestones, risks, interdependencies and benefits.
  • Roadmap delivery
  • Provide leadership in budget management, resource allocation, and project evaluation. 

 

About You: 

  • Demonstrated experience in project and change management, with highly developed communication and engagement skills. You will have an advanced ability to influence and negotiate
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or a related field, with certification (PMBOK, PRINCE2, AGILE).
  • At least 5 years of experience managing strategic projects, preferably within a not-for-profit setting.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects within timeframes, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder management, financial oversight, and project tracking tools (Microsoft Project, JIRA).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on collaboration, managing multidisciplinary teams and continuous improvement.
