The Assessments and Projects team within NSW Resources are looking for an Assistant Project Officer – Mining Titles to join them for a short term backfill opportunity.

In this role you’ll be case managing the assessment of multiple mining title applications with differing levels of complexity - interpreting and applying legislation (including the Mining Act 1992 and the Petroleum (Onshore) Act 1991), as well as undertaking smaller project work (including template updates and process improvements) when time allows.

To be successful you’ll need to be someone with exceptional attention to detail, have strong written communication skills (to prepare assessment reports and briefing notes), and outstanding communication and customer service skills (as you’ll be first point of contact for titleholders and applicants, as well as working closely with staff across other areas of the business).

You’ll also need to be able to follow process to deliver high calibre work within specific timeframes and at all times be aware and sensitive to the confidentiality and potential contentiousness of the work you are undertaking.
