South East LLS are looking for a passionate and capable Senior Biosecurity Officer to lead and deliver critical on-ground programs that protect agriculture, communities, and the environment across NSW.

As part of Local Land Services’ frontline team, you’ll take charge of animal and plant biosecurity operations, compliance programs, emergency response, stakeholder engagement and education – all while making a tangible difference every day.

 

About the role:

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead the delivery of local biosecurity programs including pest and disease management
  • Provide expert advice and build capacity in our customers and communities
  • Undertake surveillance, investigations, and emergency response activities
  • Support compliance with the Biosecurity Act and other key legislation
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve real outcomes
  • Supervise and mentor a small team and support staff capability development

 

What we’re looking for:

You’re a confident and collaborative professional with:

  • Qualifications relevant to pesticide use and (ideally) Certificate IV in Government Investigations
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and capacity to hold a firearms licence
  • Strong field delivery, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A commitment to public service values, integrity, and customer-first approaches
