About the Opportunities

We are looking to recruit to and create a talent pool for Project and Program Coordinator roles. Each position works closely with a Principal Program Manager and other stakeholders across NSW to enhance the consistency and quality of LLS service delivery. While each role has a specialist focus area, they share core responsibilities in providing subject matter expertise, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and ensuring effective program planning, delivery and evaluation. 

Key shared responsibilities across all roles:

  • Provide expert guidance to delivery teams and programs of work across NSW. 
  • Support planning, development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of projects and services. 
  • Contribute to developing policies, procedures, strategies and communications. 
  • Undertake research, analysis and issues management aligned with legislative frameworks and LLS goals. 
  • Manage complex relationships and working groups to enhance LLS service provision. 
  • Provide advice on project management practices consistent with LLS principles. 

⃣   Program/Project Coordinator – Sustainable Agriculture & Plant Biosecurity 

  • Support regions and delivery teams to improve service consistency across the Sustainable Agriculture and Plant Biosecurity portfolios. 
  • Offer subject matter expertise on agricultural extension, sustainable production systems, and plant biosecurity issues. 
  • Work closely with the Principal Program Manager Agriculture & Plant Biosecurity (Programs & Partnerships).

⃣   Program Coordinator – Natural Resource Management 

  • Drive consistency and quality of service delivery across Natural Resource Management portfolios. 
  • Offer expertise in NRM delivery approaches and support regions in achieving sustainable land management outcomes. 
  • Work closely with the Principal Program Manager Natural Resource Management (Programs & Partnerships).

⃣   Project Coordinator – Animal Biosecurity & Welfare (Sheep & Goat eID Implementation) 

  • Support implementation of Sheep & Goat Electronic Identification (eID) in NSW, working with the Sheep & Goat eID Coordinator and regions. 
  • Lead planning, contractor engagement, budget management, on-ground extension education and compliance awareness activities. 
  • Represent LLS on committees and working groups related to eID. 
  • Work closely with the Principal Program Manager Animal Biosecurity & Welfare (Programs & Partnerships).

What You'll Need 

General criteria (all roles): 

  • Relevant degree (e.g. Agricultural Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, Biosecurity, Veterinary Science) or equivalent industry experience. 
  • Demonstrated successful program and project management capabilities. 
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. 
  • A commitment to collaborative, team-based delivery. 
  • Understanding of key issues and drivers impacting landholders and rural communities. 

Role-specific expectations: 

✅ Sustainable Agriculture & Plant Biosecurity 

  • Extensive knowledge of sustainable agriculture production systems. 
  • Proven ability to deliver agricultural extension services. 
  • Deep understanding of challenges and opportunities in sustainable agricultural outcomes. 

✅ Natural Resource Management 

  • Strong understanding of NRM delivery approaches in NSW, Australia and internationally. 
  • Insight into challenges, issues and opportunities for achieving NRM outcomes. 

✅ Animal Biosecurity & Welfare (Sheep & Goat eID Implementation) 

  • Veterinary Science degree highly regarded. 
  • Knowledge of NLIS traceability systems. 
  • Experience with project and budget management for on-ground education and awareness activities. 
  • Innovative thinking to support state-wide implementation of eID.
