  • Location: Willing to consider candidates across all NSW locations. Preference will be given to candidates based regionally, with a focus on Queanbeyan, Armidale, Dubbo and Coffs Harbour
  • Clerk Grade 9/10 – salary from $129,464 to $142,665 per annum (FTE) plus super and leave loading

About the Role

As Senior Project Officer – Strategic Planning and Performance, you will:

  • Lead evaluation of current performance monitoring processes and recommend improvements.
  • Develop methodologies, tools, and reporting frameworks to support collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Drive formulation of key performance indicators and transparent performance management systems.
  • Manage project cycles, including planning, resource coordination, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Promote cultural change by encouraging cross-learning and innovation across business units.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation and reporting to meet government expectations and strategic outcomes.

This role is critical to setting interagency regulatory priorities, building mature performance reporting systems, and fostering collaboration across government and stakeholders. This role requires collaboration across multiple government agencies to protect and enhance the public values in agriculture, cultural heritage, human health and the environment

About You

You are an innovative thinker and outcomes-driven professional who thrives on solving complex problems and delivering strategic change. You bring:

  • Experience in regulatory capability uplift, strategy implementation, maturity and assurance systems, or evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to collaborate across agencies and communities.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, develop frameworks, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • A strong commitment to upholding the integrity of the regulatory system and fostering a positive team and organisational culture.
