About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tradesperson to join our team and play a key role in maintaining critical infrastructure, plant, equipment and facilities that support important research and operational activities across the Department.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and working across a broad range of maintenance and refurbishment projects. You will be responsible for ensuring buildings, equipment and essential services remain safe, reliable and fit for purpose.
What You'll Be Doing
- Coordinate and undertake maintenance, repair and refurbishment of buildings, plant and equipment.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and maintenance issues to minimise operational disruptions.
- Oversee contractors and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
- Plan maintenance activities, projects and procurement of critical spare parts and equipment.
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
- Ensure workshops, tools and equipment are maintained in a safe and orderly condition.
About You
You are a practical and reliable trades professional who enjoys working independently and finding solutions to maintenance challenges. You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and repair of infrastructure, plant and equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience managing competing priorities and responding to urgent maintenance requests.
Essential Requirement
- A building trade qualification in Electrical, Plumbing or Carpentry
- Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel
- Current (or the ability to gain) NSW Forklift Operator’s Licence
