The role: • Has primary responsibility for managing and coordinating operational, professional and administrative service delivery for the Tasmanian Autism Diagnostic Service. • The role supports the optimal management of resources assigned to the service. • Maintains an active clinical role through undertaking evidence based, comprehensive, and independent autism diagnostic assessments for children and young people suspected of being on the Autism Spectrum. • Provides training, supervision and leadership to the team undertaking autism assessments, including the management of subtle and complex presentations. • Acts as a resource to train and facilitate opportunities for education and training in the field of autism with relevant stakeholders across the state. • Provides advise to the director in relation to policy and service development in relation to autism spectrum disorder. • Develops and reviews service policies and guidelines for the TADS. • Establishes and maintains service partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
