About the role
This Quality Governance & Risk (QGR) Specialist works within the QGR team to ensure that HammondCare services have a focus on the delivery and improvement of quality care, service and staff safety.
This role ensures our services are aligned with HammondCare’s philosophy and models of care and supports the achievement of the services’ goals and aims.
This is a permanent full-role role which can either be based at St Leonards, Hunter or Central Coast Region with hybrid opportunities.
Essence of the role:
- Support services in understanding the effectiveness of the operations of their services, alignment with the Mission and Mission in Action and ongoing trends.
- Maintain relationships with services that encourage service management and staff to escalate concerns and a willingness to work with QGR on innovation and improvement.
- Maintain a customer focus approach and engage stakeholders at every level, ensuring their understanding and support for the organisation’s ongoing commitment to quality improvement.
- Undertake investigation, reviews and audits as scheduled or triggered by changes in service delivery or as requested by the Head of Quality, Governance and Risk.
- Monitor and analyse data in relation to incidents, feedback and quality activities to support services to make information decisions and have an understanding of the trends occurring within their service.
- Escalate concerns or sentinel events to the Head of Quality, Governance and Risk - Home Care.
- Supporting and assisting services to identify and implement quality improvement projects based on feedback and audit results.
- Support services in meeting the requirements of any external regulatory reviews or other external visits and provide onsite support during these events.
- Ensure that the Quality Schedule is monitored and maintained.

About You
- Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
- A relevant health or care related tertiary qualification with experience or more than 4 years working in the Quality space.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of Health and/or Aged Care, continuous improvement, quality management and accreditation standards and processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including high level written and oral communication, negotiation, customer focus and solution focused skills.
- Experienced in operating effectively in a multi-site environment.
- Strong administrative and computer skills.
- Ability to work independently on a regular basis whilst working as part of a team.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience.
- A proven track record within the QGR Specialist role and currently performing at a high level.
- Leadership traits and ambitions.
- Competence in providing feedback and structured support for audits and reviews.
