Join Sunwater as a General Manager - Engineering Services where you’ll play the vital role of leading Sunwater’s Engineering team including Dams, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Geology teams, Technical Drafting, Technical Standards, and Commercial and Contracts Management. You will be responsible for aligning design and engineering outputs with long-term asset performance and strategic planning by ensuring effective coordination of technical functions, definition and assurance of technical requirements, and integrate design and engineering activities to enable project and organisational objectives.

As General Manager - Engineering Services at Sunwater, you will:

  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership and strategic influence across Sunwater, fostering alignment, collaboration and engagement among diverse stakeholders.
  • Lead a systems engineering approach to the development and integration of technical frameworks and engineering standards across all asset classes to ensure Sunwater’s design, construction, operation and maintenance requirements are clearly defined and consistently applied.
  • Support the Asset Management team in developing and implementing a long term, data driven asset management strategy and framework for the replacement and refurbishment of assets.
  • Oversee the creation and management of technical drafting and documentation to support the effective design, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of Operational Technology (OT) systems.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports and presentations to executive and board committees, providing insights on project progress, risk management and asset performance.

We are seeking an exceptional individual with 20+ years’ experience and the expertise in appointing and leading multi-disciplinary design and engineering teams to develop and deliver complex infrastructure. You will hold tertiary qualifications in Engineering, hold RPEQ and have experience working with asset management programs, concepts and principles. You will also bring:

  • Technical expertise: Experience operating in an Engineering Management, Requirements Management or Systems Engineering role within the water sector.
  • Strategic vision: Drive organisational change through exceptional communication, establishment of trusted relationships, and inspiring action to deliver enterprise-wide impact.
  • Communication skills: Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.
