Job Summary:

* Due to the high caliber of internal ASRS candidates, this position is only open to current ASRS employees.

The Membership Accounting Supervisor will manage and lead a team that processes incoming and outgoing member and employer data for health insurance premium benefits, long-term disability, service audits, service purchase, transfers, termination incentive program, and member maintenance. Job responsibilities also include project management and partnerships with peer supervisors to create best practices within the Financial and Employer Services Division (FESD) of the Arizona State Retirement System.

This position offers the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

• Manage a team of direct reports – including lead, develop and mentor.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of incoming and outgoing member and employer data as well as support operations of other supervisors in the program area.
• Plan, schedule, and prioritize work; recommend and implement procedural changes.
• Review and update operating procedures and ensure employee compliance.
• Provide customer service to internal customers, ASRS members, ASRS employers, and vendors.
• Ensure controls and compliance are in place for systematic and manual processing.
• Identify and analyze problems, then provide timely and accurate solutions.
• Manage productivity and ensure organizational and strategic goals are accomplished.
• Utilize project management skills in both formal and informal team, division, and agency projects.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

• A minimum of 1 year of ASRS experience
• Knowledge of federal, state, and agency laws, regulations, and policies and procedures impacting the ASRS
• Knowledge of retirement programs, including health insurance programs, service purchase, retirement benefits, refund provisions, account maintenance, long-term disability, and pension calculations
• Advanced oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Situational and strategic leadership skills
• Strong project management techniques

Selective Preference(s):

• Prefer three years of supervisory experience and a four-year college degree in business, public administration or related field
