Job Summary: |
This position will work in the office and be responsible for providing over the counter services to the public for the Region 6 (Mesa) office. Over the counter assistance will include issuing licenses, tags, and stamps in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with A.R.S. Title 17 and Game and Fish Commission rules.
Job Duties: |
This position provides assistance in registering and inspecting watercraft for compliance with Federal requirements. Enters data into a database, collects fees and enters transactions into a PC cash register (including cash security). Prepares daily reconciliation reports and balances it against daily receipts and PC cash register reports. Responds to public inquiries through regular mail, e-mail, in person, and over telephone, regarding complex watercraft registration requirements and procedures, State, Federal and Department policies and procedures, and nuisance wildlife issues. Coordinates with Internal and external customers to assist with placing injured wildlife within the most appropriate rehabilitator centers across the state (when necessary) and coordinates transport to rehabilitator or veterinarian. Performs administrative functions to include preparing correspondence and brochures, scheduling staff travel, and note taking. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Candidate will have knowledge of Game and Fish Commission rules and orders; A.R.S. Title 5, Title 17, Title 33 and other applicable Arizona Revised Statutes; U.S. Coast Guard Federal requirements governing states registration; law enforcement practices; hull identification and safety equipment; terminology of watercraft structures and equipment; cash handling and reconciliation. Candidates will have skill in active listening, problem solving, organization; multitasking; oral and written communication, customer service, grammar usage, 10-key and use of basic office equipment. The candidate will have the ability to provide great customer service; defuse a difficult situation; handle dead or sick or injured animals and assist all program employees.
Selective Preference(s): |
The preferred candidate will be bilingual, have knowledge of the State Procurement System and be proficient with Microsoft and Google.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required
training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked or suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
