Job Summary: |
The Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled intern to support the state's workforce development evaluation initiatives.
The Integrated Data System Intern will lead an analytic project evaluating the performance of ARIZONA@WORK program(s) on the state’s longitudinal data system.
This role will provide hands-on experience with data science, data analysis, and data management methodologies, and contribute to the development of reports that support strategic decision-making.
This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona (including virtual office arrangements).
Job Duties: |
• Lead the development of a workforce evaluation report
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends and patterns in workforce data
• Track and report key performance indicators related to workforce development performance
• Provide support to WIOA state and local boards and workforce partners, including communication of new IDS products. Collaborate with state agencies and local organizations to integrate analytic findings into workforce development strategies
• Assist OEO IDS and Workforce teams with project deliverables as needed
• Develop and publish website and data visualization content
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge:
• Analytic thinking, including the ability to apply standard research methodologies, applied statistics, and use of data manipulation techniques
• Obtained or earning a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in economics, statistics, or a related field
• Minimum of one year of experience performing analytic work
Skills:
• Excellent data analysis and visualization skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong written and oral communication
Abilities:
• Ability to collaborate with others, present information to diverse stakeholders, and use data analysis and management software
Selective Preference(s): |
• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Economics, Data Science, Political Science, Data Management, Statistics, or a related field
